Secretoneurin biomarker

Secretoneurin (SN) is a circulating blood biomarker associated with cardiovascular disease, including acute heart failure. Clinical studies have shown that secretoneurin provides incremental prognostic information in cardiovascular disease.

What is secretoneurin?

Secretoneurin (SN) is a 33‑amino acid peptide derived from secretogranin II, and expressed in neuroendocrine tissues and the myocardium. It is detectable in the bloodstream and associated with cardiovascular pathophysiological processes, making it a practical and accessible blood-based biomarker for clinical use and translational research.
